President Trump announced plans for a ‘Crypto Strategic Reserve’ yesterday but notably did not initially mention Bitcoin in the initiative, which led to the Bitcoin community expressing strong criticism over the unexpected and ill-advised inclusion of altcoins. The federal government already holds approximately $17B in BTC, with this initiative expanding on the January executive order for a ‘national digital asset stockpile.’ The announcement comes days before the inaugural White House Crypto Summit. 🏦 White House Crypto Summit To Spur Bitcoin Policy

The White House will host its first Crypto Summit on March 7, 2025, focusing on Bitcoin's role in the US financial system, crypto regulations, stablecoins, and aiming to solidify the US's leadership in digital assets. David Sacks, appointed as Trump’s AI and crypto tzar, will chair the event, and Bo Hines, executive director of the President’s Working Group, will oversee administrative aspects of the summit.
