TODAY’S TOP STORIES

🪓 The Rage Claims Dashjr Eyeing Bitcoin Hardfork

The Rage is reporting that leaked messages show Luke Dashjr, maintainer of Bitcoin Knots, floated a hardfork to add a ‘trusted multisig committee’ that could retroactively edit the blockchain, swapping alleged CSAM for zero-knowledge proofs. The shift from filtering non-monetary 'spam' to policing content alarms Bitcoiners: it would gut Bitcoin’s permissionless, censorship-resistant design and invite Know Your Customer/Anti-Money Laundering demands. Dashjr called the report 'lies,' yet The Rage says it verified authenticity. An unlikely ally, Udi Wertheimer, however, points out The Rage misframed the messages about Dashjr. Atlas21

🔁 Circle Abandons Core Bitcoin Principles; Explores Reversible USDC

Circle is exploring reversible USDC transfers to claw back fraud or hack funds, a nod to traditional finance comfort but a clash with Bitcoin’s finality. President Heath Tarbert admits the tension between instant settlement and reversibility. Supporters point to Sui’s Cetus exploit, where validators froze $162M of $220M before returning funds. Circle’s push coincides with its Arc layer-1 and Fireblocks integration to court institutions. Ironically, every added rollback option reminds markets why Bitcoin’s unstoppable, rule-based finality is the benchmark. Cointelegraph

🍊 'Satoshi Needs You' Rallies Support for CLARITY Act, Peer-to-Peer Rights

Following harsh outcomes in the Tornado Cash trial and Samourai Wallet case, Bitcoin Policy Institute, Save Our Wallets, CoinCenter, and Bitcoin Design foundation launched the 'Satoshi Needs You' campaign to defend peer-to-peer rights. The coalition urges Americans to contact senators and support the Senate CLARITY Act draft with Blockchain Regulatory Certainty Act protections, especially Section 109, safeguarding noncustodial developers and everyday users. Visit SaveOurWallets.org to get contacts and take action so bitcoin remains peer-to-peer cash, true to Satoshi’s design. Bitcoin Magazine
