Greetings Bitcoiner,

❝

Welcome to Issue #640 of Bitcoin Breakdown, where it’s OPSEC Wednesday special, followed by the latest Quick Bits snippets. But first, today’s Top Stories:

Bitcoin's closer movement with gold offers useful market context without changing its settlement rules. September remains its weakest month on average, although the latest three finished positive. A displayed return lead for BlackRock's IBIT over Vanguard's VOO shows why volatility can alter the journey without deciding the destination.

AI made PMs faster. Multiplayer mode is still broken.

A PM can summarize research, draft a PRD, and mock up a prototype before lunch. The hard part starts when the team has to decide what actually gets built.

Jira Product Discovery gives product teams one place to capture insights, prioritize ideas with consistent frameworks, and build living roadmaps stakeholders can rally around.

And because it’s connected to Jira, the context behind every decision stays with the workβ€”so developers and their agents know not just what to build, but why.

AI helps PMs move faster. Jira Product Discovery helps the whole team build with confidence.

🟑 Bitcoin's Gold Correlation Sets a New High

The 90-day Pearson correlation between bitcoin and gold reached an all-time high, while its 30-day reading hit 0.8. The Nasdaq-100 correlation fell to about 33% from more than 60%, changing the current market comparison without predicting what comes next.

Why it matters: The shift offers useful market context because it signals how capital is moving under current conditions. Bitcoin's settlement rules and scarcity remain independent of whichever asset shares its recent price path. Read more→

πŸ“‰ Bitcoin's September Curse Meets a Winning Streak

Since 2013, September has averaged a 2.97% Bitcoin decline, with eight negative finishes across 13 completed years in the measured span. Yet the latest three Septembers closed positive, including a 5.16% gain in September 2025.

Why it matters: The record deserves respect because historical patterns influence positioning, though it cannot forecast the next close. Bitcoin's scarcity and settlement rules do not change when the calendar turns each year. Read more→

🏦 IBIT Beats VOO Through a Much Wilder Market Ride

A Bloomberg chart displays BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) at 71.34% total return and Vanguard's VOO at 66.06% since IBIT's inception. It shows IBIT taking a much more volatile path, while the fund also ranked seventh by traded value in the cited United States session.

Why it matters: IBIT gives conventional portfolios liquid bitcoin exposure while keeping an intermediary between investors and the asset. Bitcoin sovereignty begins when holders control their own keys rather than depend on a fund wrapper. Read more→
