🇯🇵 Remixpoint Dumps Four Altcoins and Keeps Bitcoin
Remixpoint, a Japan-listed company active in energy and digital assets, sold all of its ETH, SOL, XRP and DOGE while keeping about 1,506 bitcoin worth more than $115 million. Its disclosed portfolio holds bitcoin and no altcoins after the sale.
Why it matters: Remixpoint did not diversify; it dumped four altcoins and kept bitcoin as its sole disclosed holding. Japan's third-largest corporate Bitcoin holder has put the difference between sound money and the token casino directly on its balance sheet. Read more→
🇹🇭 Thailand Schedules Travel Rule Checks for Self-Custody
Thailand has issued regulations taking effect on February 27, 2027. Licensed operators will have to verify ownership or control of self-hosted wallets in relevant transfers and retain the required transaction information for at least five years.
Why it matters: Self-custody preserves control of the keys, but licensed gateways can still demand identity links to wallets. Privacy advocates must challenge this disproportionate financial surveillance before it becomes the default condition of using money. Read more→
🦠 Sality's Eight-Year Theft Run Meets a Sinkhole
CrowdStrike and reporting describe a Russia-linked, eight-year cryptocurrency theft campaign using EggJagger to target copied wallet addresses. Federal authorities and international partners helped disrupt Sality, while CrowdStrike used a peer-to-peer sinkhole to isolate infected machines.
Why it matters: Bitcoin's settlement rules were not broken because Sality compromised infected computers instead. Sality attacked transaction details on those computers, so users should verify the complete destination address after every paste. Read more→
