Greetings Bitcoiner,
Welcome to Issue #676 of Bitcoin Breakdown, where it’s OPSEC Wednesday special, followed by the latest Quick Bits snippets. But first, today’s Top Stories:
Trezor trims its reseller network after a hardware implant turned up in a Ledger device, Strive offers SATS with a 15% dividend paid every business day, and a UK judge hands Chinese law the fight over 61,000 seized bitcoin. Open hardware, keys you hold and coins nobody else controls remain Bitcoin's clean answers.
Blu Dot surpasses 2,000% ROAS with self-serve CTV ads
Home furniture brand Blu Dot blew up on CTV with help from Roku Ads Manager. Here’s how:
After a test campaign reached 211,000 households and achieved 1,010% ROAS, the brand went all in to promote its annual sales event. It removed age and income constraints to expand reach and shifted budget to custom audiences and retargeting, where intent was strongest.
The results speak for themselves. As Blu Dot increased their investment by 10x, ROAS jumped to 2,308% and more page-view conversions surpassed 50,000.
“For CTV campaigns, Roku has been a top performer,” said Claire Folkestad, Paid Media Strategist, Blu Dot. “Comping to our other platforms, we have seen really strong ROAS… and highly efficient CPMs, lower than any other CTV partner we've worked with.”
Using Roku Ads Manager, the campaign moved from a pilot to a permanent performance engine for the brand.

🛡️ Trezor Cuts Resellers After Ledger Implant Attack
Trezor is reducing its number of resellers so it can more effectively check the partners it keeps, calling the cut a preventive step. Ledger confirmed an unauthorized hardware implant in one device after customers in South East Asia who bought from the reseller CryptoBilis reported lost funds. Trezor says it has no evidence its own devices were compromised.
Why it matters: A hardware wallet is only as safe as the path it takes to the buyer, which turns every unvetted reseller into a hidden counterparty. After Coldcard and Ledger, the fix is open hardware you can verify, not custodians and paper bitcoin. Read more→

📈 Strive Offers SATS Preferred at a 15% Daily Dividend
Strive is offering SATS through an IPO for select investors, a new cumulative perpetual preferred stock paying a fixed 15% dividend every business day. SATS ranks junior to Strive's SATA preferred and senior to ASST common stock, while Strive now holds 32,773 bitcoin worth $2.7B.
Why it matters: SATS turns a bitcoin treasury into fixed fiat income, where every layer is a paper claim that carries more counterparty risk the lower it sits. Strive sells dollar yield, while sats in self-custody leave nobody ahead of you in line. Read more→

⚖️ UK Court Says Chinese Law Decides 61K BTC Claims
A High Court judge ruled that Chinese law, not English law, governs the ownership rights victims must show to claim more than 61,000 bitcoin seized by the Metropolitan Police. Victims wanted English law because it could have let them claim direct ownership of the bitcoin rather than seek compensation as creditors.
Why it matters: Bitcoin settlement is final, so the fight is over legitimacy and who keeps the appreciated coins after a seizure. If victims cannot prove ownership under Chinese law, they may be paid as creditors in fiat while the state keeps the hard money. Read more→

The tampered device passed Ledger's own authenticity check, which proves the chip is genuine and says nothing about who opened the case.
